There is no health without mental health
The World Health Organization defines mental health as ‘a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community’.
Part of The Banyan's work is to spread knowledge about mental health and encourage its practice in all sections of society. This increase in awareness is essential to improve wellbeing and also to dispell the stigma faced by those associated with mental health problems.
This section of The Banyan's website is to provide information on mental health and problems that can arise in order to begin this process. If you have any concerns please consult a professional as soon as possible.
